A copper alloy earl post-medieval dress hook of Read's Class D, Type 6. The object is trefoil in plan with an incomplete rearward facing hook. The object consists of a copper alloy back plate with undulating edges and three hollow-domed bosses each of which has three circles of twisted wire and six raised pellets. In the centre of the trefoil is a raised wire circle. A separate soldered wire loop and wire hook are attached to the rear of the back plate. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition.
Dimensions: 27mm in length, 24mm in width, 6mm thick, 4.4g.
