A complete piece of flint Debitage of Mesolithic date (AD 9000-3550). The object is a utilised waste flake. The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains five predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises. The proximal edge has been roughly blunted. All edges have rough semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface has a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end on which are several shallow negative scars. Shallow ripples of percussion emanate from the proximal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
The flint is dark grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout.
