A gold Iron Age quarter stater of the Southern Region / Belgae, c.60-20 BC, 'Petal Saltire' type. Obverse: Cruciform wreath motif with saltire of petals, cogwheel and rings in the angles. Reverse: Horse right, cogwheel above, below, and in front, pellets in rings in front and below(?). As ABC, p. 59, no. 809. This type is not listed in BMCIA or VA and according to ABC appears to be only the second recorded example, the first on the PAS database.
