A medieval silver penny of Edward III dating to AD 1344-1351 (Third (Florin) Coinage). EDW R ANGL DNS hYB obverse depicts a crowned bust and the N is reversed. CIVITAS LONDON reverse depicts a long cross with three pellets in each quarter and the 'n's are Lombardic. Mint of London. North 1116 (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage Volume 2, Spink & Son, London p 47, no 1116).
