A small lead button dating to the 16th to 17th century, discoidal, with a convex front and flat back. The front of the button is decorated with a central pellet surrounded by 6 petals, moulded in relief. On the rear is an integrally moulded shank broken as it splits into the loop with no real stem.
Height: 9.2mm, Diameter: 11.8mm, Weight: 3.6g.
This example closely resembles examples described by Read (2005: 56-57), particularly Nos. 207 & 214, which he dates to the 16th to early 17th centuries.
