A copper alloy thimble dating to c.1350-1400 AD, probably of English origin. The object has been hammered from sheet metal, tiny overlaps can be seen on the inside.
16mm high by 17mm diameter. It has a domed top with a small circular hole at the centre. The outer face has two horizontal indented rims at the bottom and a series of closely-spaced horizontal rows of small circular indentations. The object has a dark green patina. Its walls are 0.5m thick and the weight is 2.50g.
