A fragment of a flat medieval annular copper-alloy brooch which is broken across the narrow pin constriction. The brooch has an inscription which begins with a cross pattee and incorporates a Lombardic letter 'M'. The spaces between the letters are infilled with zig zags. The legend reads + AVE MA[RIA GRACIA PLENA] // [...]V DEORVM. The brooch measures 76mm in diameter.
