Three base sherds of samian pottery, probably Central Gaulish ware, not from the same vessel. Soft salmon-pink fabric with glossy orange slip.
1) Decorated sherd from base of plate or shallow dish. Sherd has a small section of 'foot', and a section of flat base, decorated with rouletting on what would have been the interior of the bowl. Max length 53.5mm, max width 31.4mm, thickness including foot 20.5mm, body thickness 9.1mm
2) Probable base sherd with a section of 'foot' and a small section of flat base. Max length 52.6mm, max width 17.6mm, thickness including foot 21.7mm, body thickness 8.2mm
3) Body sherd with remains of 'foot', which has almost entirely broken away. Sherd has a curve, suggesting that it was from a small, deep bowl. Max length 39.4mm, max width 25.7mm, thickness including remains of foot 8.8mm, body thickness 5.2mm
