An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy livery button with white metal coating on the front surface. The button is circular in plan and has flat faces on both sides. The front face is coated with a white metal such as silver or tin. The front is decorated at the centre with a lion statant, facing left, standing on an anthropomorphic harp, of which the left part of the frame is a human bust facing left. At 12 0'clock of the button is the letter I; the letter R is at 9 0'clock, and the letter D is at 3 0'clock. The reverse is flat and undecorated and there are no traces of surface coating visible; there is a small circle at the centre where an attachment loop (now missing) was positioned. Diameter 22 mm.
