A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date, (c.1100-1500). The object is circular in plan and sub-conical. In the centre of the object is a perforation with an internal diameter of 6mm. The object has a white patina. It is decorated with a raised undulating line and pellet design on the upper face. The lower face is undecorated.

Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500.
