A copper alloy Medieval harness pendant, 13th-14th century, with red enamelled design AD.1250-1400. The pendant has worn to an almost circular shape with a pointed projection forming the remains of the suspension loop. Originally it would have been a quatrefoil tressure in shape with four projections in each of the angles. The front carries a heraldic design formed of a square recess, now missing its enamel filling with fleur de lys projecting from each side, this is set against a red enamel field. The reverse of the object is undecorated.
This pendant corresponds to Griffiths 1986, fig.6 and is dated to the 13th to 14th century.
