Copper alloy ring. A cast suspension loop, comprising a slightly tapered D-section bar which is bent back on itself near its midpoint, with its ends touching to close the loop. The broader end is slightly flattened with short side lugs which confer an irregular cruciform appearance. Class parallels occur at Middle Saxon Flixborough (Evans and Loveluck 2009, fig.1:10), though construction styles to achieve the same result probably varied. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 700-800.
