A fragment of a copper-alloy vessel of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1850. The fragment is part of the rim of a probable cooking vessel and is sub-rectangular in plan and section, swelling slightly to the out turned rim. All the breaks are old and worn and the fragment appears undecorated.

The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn, especially on the exterior surface which displays signs of burning presumably through use. The fragment is 52.6mm long, 34.2mm wide, 5.1mm thick and weighs 35g.

While it is not possible to allocate this fragment to a specific type it is likely to be from a large cooking vessel and dates from c. AD 1100 to c. AD 1850 after which the use of cast iron cooking vessels predominates.
