Three fragments from a copper-alloy post-medieval sword belt hanger or mount. The remaining fragments consist of part of a plate which, when complete would have originally had three suspension loops from which a trio of hooked plates hung. The remaining two fragments comprise one complete hooked plate and one partial hooked plate. The scabbard straps would have been attached to these plates.
The mount and the hooked plates feature a symmetrical foliate decoration on the visible faces. These fittings are rarely found complete, however, an illustration of another complete sword-belt fitting can be found in Read (2001, 43; ref. 373). Their design and decoration are relatively standardised.
Although none of the fragments join together and it is not a foregone conclusion that all three fragments were once part of the same object, their proximity and similar levels of wear strongly suggest it.
