Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy harness fitting depicting a profile bust of the man-in-the-moon facing across an aperture towards a six-pointed star, with two integral round-sectioned attachment spikes on the reverse. A hook which would have engaged with a loop in a counterpart mount, is missing, see Read 2008, no. 805. The counterpart may have been NMS-81EC97, which was recovered from the same field. Extant width 34.2mm. Height 24.5mm. 17th century.
