A cast copper alloy mount of post-medieval to modern date. The head of the mount is hemispherical, with a concave underside.An integrally cast rivet projects backwards from the centre of the head's underside; it is of square cross section, bent and tapers to a point back with a square tapered shank which tapers to a point. The object has a patchy green patina. It has a diameter of 10.90 mm. The pin has a length of 14.17 mm and it weighs 1.306 grams.
Mounts such as this are a common find and have a wide date range. E xamples like this are a common feature on 18th century furniture and are used for the attachment of leather to chair seats.
