A copper-alloy incomplete pin or possibly lace chape / lace tag of uncertain date. This artefact weighs 0.41g and has a length of 33.0mm. The object has a circular cross-section with diameter of 2.2mmm, at the transverse worn break, and tapers to a point. The shaft has a bend approximately two thirds of the way towards the tip. A 'U' shaped notch is present, representing missing metal, from the shaft at the location of the change of angle. It is uncertain whether this is later damage or an error during initial production. A lateral mark in the side of the shaft starting at the worn break and extending towards the pointed terminal for a length of c.8.6mmm may be indication that this was a handmade (drawn) shaft. The exact date range is uncertain.
