A complete copper alloy Heraldic Harness Pendant of Medieval date (AD 1200-1400). The object is a Shield Shaped mount with a flat upper edge, and curving sides which taper to a point at the lower terminal. The object has an integral, sub-rectangular suspension loop projecting from the centre of the upper edge which has a circular perforation oriented at a right angle to the mount. A moulded border circumnavigates the edge, enclosing the heraldic design of three by a triple diagonal line from the upper left corner. The design to either side of the diagonal lines are heavily abraded but are probably six lions rampant, three to either side of the diagonal lines.

Its is likely that blue enamel would have been inlaid on the field, and therefore that these are the arms of the de Bohun family, Earls of Hereford and Essex, blazoned: azure a bend argent, cotised or between six lions rampant or.
The De Bohun's were important landowners and many harness pendants and mounts with their arms have been recorded, on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database: LANCUM-4B60E4, SOM-3953B5, PUBLIC-F0B13A, SUR-E815AF, YORYM-3F3A5D and NLM-C87039.
