An everted rim fragment a Roman, samian, bowl with bright pink/orange surfaces and remnants of the glossy red/brown colour coating on both surfaces which are undecorated, except for a thin circumferential line scribed c13.5 mm beneath the top of the rim (which stands 8 mm high). The fabric is oxidised and soft, and contains very few voids, sparse mica, and one or two small black grit inclusions. It is dated to 43 to 400 AD and is moderately abraded and fractures are fine. Its height is 74 mm, width 70 mm and thickness 9 mm. It weighs 35.38 gms and has a rim diameter of 440 mm.
