Cast lead trade weight, free standing, pyramidal in form on a flat square base. The tip of the weight has been twisted and folded to one side, with an impressed nick which may hide the remains of a perforation for suspension. The weight weighs 179.82g which equates to 6.3 ounces avoirdupois and 5.8 troy ounces so about half a troy pound.
Biggs & Withers (2000) illustrate a similar pyramidal weight with a rectangular base on page 31, no.71.
Egan (1998) records a pyramidal weight that weighs 53.5g on page 322, no.1037, which is dated from the 15th century.
Egan (2005) illustrates conical weights on page 164, fig.161, nos.845 & 850, which are dated from the 16th to the 17th century.
