An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap-end dating to the Medieval period, c. 1350-1450. The strap-end is composed of two plates joined by a spacer, riveted together at the top and bottom of the object (of which only the bottom example is preserved in-situ). It is broadly rectangular in form, with a small knop projecting from the lower edge of the object and originally three lobes extending from the top of the strap-end, though these and the top third of the object have broken away in old damage. Preserved in fair condition with an even dark green patina, the strap-end survives to a length of 22.84mm, is 13.23mm wide at its midpoint, and measures 2.72mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 3.16 grammes. A similar strap-end is published by Egan (Egan and Pritchard 1991, p. 143, no. 660), c.f also with PAS record WILT-C5D7E1, which is more complete.
