A incomplete lead alloy decorative object of post-medieval to modern date. The object is U-shaped in plan with an undulating upper edge and has been bent out of shape, possibly due to recent damage from the plough.
The outer face is decorated with two tall leaves which are separated by four vertical grooves. The decoration is moulded and surrounded by a grooved border. The rear of the object is undecorated. The fragment has a mid-brown to dark grey patina and is in fair condition. There is no evidence for attachment on the rear of the object.
Lead decorations which were often gilded and used on secular and religious contexts for decoration however no traces of gilding remain on this example nor is there a hole through for attachment. Although an older date is possible the condition of the metal suggests a more recent date is likely.
