An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval buckle, dating to the period c.AD 1650-1750. The buckle is oval in plan, and comprises two loops separated by a central axis bar. It is D shaped in cross-section. The frame expands at the outer edge of each loop. The triangular pin is intact at the axis bar, as is the chape which expands outwards before its two arms terminate in worn breaks. A green patina is on the surface, with traces of iron corrosion around the axis bar.
The buckle measures 35.19mm in length, 25.04mm in width, 4.06mm in thickness and weighs 8.04g.
