Post Medieval copper alloy furniture backplate in the form of a flower. The plate is domed with a central rivet hole and radiating engraved lines separating each petal. Each of the petals tapers to a lobed knop. These were common fittings for drawers and small cupboards with drop-handles and can be seen in situ in the furniture displays of many stately homes. cf CAM-139502. Circa late 17th-19th C.
