An incomplete Roman copper alloy probable headstud brooch. It consists of part of the wings and most of the bow, but is missing the outer part of the wings, the spring pin, catchplate and the foot of the bow. The brooch is T-shaped in plan and D-shaped in profile. There is a small central crest at the head, over a 6.3mm diameter circular stud at the apex of the bow, below which is a raised rib with herringbone rib decoration extending into grooves either side, tapering towards the foot.
The brooch has light green patination, and all surfaces are very worn.
It is 21.5mm long by 11.5mm at the widest point across the wings and weighs 4.98 grams.
