Copper alloy brooch. Cast Colchester derivative brooch comprising curved plain hollow wings to retain a spring [lost], clasped by a D section bow surmounted by a small rearward pointing hook, Mackreth type CD RH 5i. The stub of a possibly pierced catch plate appears at the lower part of an otherwise plain tapering bow. A pair of faintly incised lines flanking the top of the bow is the only discernible decoration. Suggested date: Early Roman, 75-125.
