An Early Medieval to Medieval copper-alloytongue-shaped openwork possible stirrup-strap mount with no flange. The mount is a debased copy of Williams' Class A, Type 3 which depicts an apparently bound facing figure intertwined with and holding two framing snakes. The mount has a flat back and three rivet holes. The lack of a flange, which is present on most stirrup-strap mounts, is problematical but could suggest that this is intended to be a strap end.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
