An incomplete pmultiple motif copper alloy Late Roman bracelet, dating to the period c.AD 300 - 400.
The bracelet has a D shape cross section, and has a pattern of transverse grooves and dots. The probable central groves of the bracelet are clustered closely together, but two other grooves are spaced out further apart from the cluster. This applies to either side of the cluster. One side of the separated grooves is a neat line of punched dots in a perfectly straight line. The interior of the bracelet is undecorated. The bracelet has been bent completely out of the place.
Length (bent): c.30.25mm
Width: 22.39mm
Weight: 6.26g
A similar example can be found in Crummy page 42, figure 44 No. 1683, the pattern is rather similar, with exception for the dots.
