A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting (belt decoration) of post-medieval date. The strap fitting is broadly lozengiform in plan (kite or arrowhead-shaped), with two integrally cast attachment spike on the reverse, which are both bent inwards and still adhere to a small piece of leather. The upper side of the fitting is quite worn but the narrow end may have a devolved zoomorphic terminal of an animal's head with ears flat on the head. The moulded elements over the rest of the fitting are indistinct. Suggested date: 16th to 17th century AD.
