An incomplete copper-alloy small-long brooch of Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date, c. AD 450 - 550. Only the foot and a short length of the bow remains. The bow has a rectangular section and is decorated with three transverse bands of two raised ridges with corresponding grooves. Four outward facing crescent shapes frame each of the outer edges of the lower bow as it expands into a spatulate foot. The lower edge of the foot is slightly swollen and is decorates with three evenly spaced transverse bands of two raised ridges with corresponding grooves. The remains of a rectangular catchplate project from the reverse of the bow.

The metal has a dark brown patina and is worn. The brooch is 27.4mm long, 19.6mm wide, 10.3mm thick and weighs 5.4g.

A similar example is recorded on the PAS database as YORYM-C33D41. These small-long brooches date from the mid-5th to mid-6th centuries AD.
