A fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy T shape brooch dating to AD 43 - 100. It consists of the damaged head (most of one wing missing) with complete head loop, and the upper part of the bow. The hinge mechanism is in place with a short section (8.90mm) of pin which is circular in section. The loop is 8.14mm in diameter, the bow 8.73mm where it leaves the head and tapering to 7mm at the break which is 16mm below the base of the loop. The bow is flat in section and c1.73mm thick. There are two parallel grooves in the length of the bow, leaving a pronounced central ridge, terminating 8.62mm below the base of the loop.

The fragment is 22.27mm in length and 14.11m in width (across the damaged head). It weighs 2.89g.
