A complete modern copper alloy token issued by John Cooke and Sons, of London, between AD 1830 and AD 1940. It imitates a Venetian gold ducat. The obverse has a beaded rim with a fictitious inscription that reads OVCH[M]EI (left anticlockwise); YCO[C] (centre vert.); IDOT NOCEN (right clockwise), and depicts two plant-like figures, one holding a long sceptre. The reverse also has a bead rim, and an inscription that reads ANIV[]O[]E[]VOC, with an oval of pellets inside the inscription and stars around an object (largely obscured due to bronze disease).

According to the two parallel records on the PAS below, it is normally struck on a pierced flan, with scalloped edges. This example however exhibits neither the piercing nor the scalloped edges.

Parallel records on the PAS database: WMID-26BC26 and WMID-26D175.

Another parallel can be found at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (accession number CM.2430-2003 - webpage accessed on 27-October-2018).

Also according to the parallel records: John Cooke and Sons issued imitation foreigns coins to advertise their stationary business off Cannon Street, London between AD 1830 and AD 1940. Several varieties are known and they seem to have been made in London, Birmingham, and maybe also Africa.
