Incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman Colchester brooch with both wings, the spring, forward-facing hook, pin, almost all of the catchplate and the foot missing. The sub-rectangular-sectioned bow is decorated with a median triplet of straight grooves. At the top of the bow, beneath the position of the forward-facing hook, the grooves give way to a slot with a highly uneven base. Extant length 49.4mm. Width at top of bow 9mm. c.20 - c.60 AD.
