A late medieval to early post-medieval (1400-1600) cast copper alloy chafing dish handle, with complete handle and lug. The lug is circular and fully envelopes the handle, and is rectangular in section: it may have been hammered into shape around the handle. The lug has a stepped end and circular rivet where it would have been attached to the chafing dish. The handle resembles an inverted T with 90 degree corners, and is rectangular in section. It appears to have been bent on one side, causing the metal to break. The bottom bar is extremely worn and very thin.
