A copper alloy Roman bow brooch, dating to the period AD 50-410.
The head of the brooch is rather plain and it projects cylindrical wings both of which terminate in end caps. The axis bar appears to have been constructed from iron due to the corrosion product on the end caps.
The bow bends at a 90 degree angle with the head, and is decorated with four grooves and two ridges. There is also a singular rivet within a circular perforation which is located about a quarter of the way down the bow. The catch plate is incomplete, and connects with foot of the brooch, (via its top edge) of which has a pointed tip.
