A late medieval/ early post-medieval (1400-1700) incomplete D-shaped buckle with ornate outside edges, possibly from a spur and missing its (probably iron) pin. From the curved edge extends a protrusion consisting of an isoceles triangle balanced upon a small rectangle, balanced upon a circle. At the oppisite end is a rectangular edge with four equidistant transverse grooves, flanked at the inside edge by a pair of vertical grooves. At the centre is a bar for the pin; a knop extends to either side of the frame at the ends. The underside of the buckle is undecorated and the bar carries traces of iron corrosion. The patina is light green in colour. The buckle measures 32.1mm in length, 14.3mm in max.width and weighs 2.42g.

A D-shaped buckle of similar design with a scallop-like protrusion is BERK-135F30 on this database.
