Copper alloy probable harness pendant fragment, as kindly identified by Rob Webley, correcting an initial identification by this reporter as a buckle frame fragment. Rob comments: 'My guess on this is that it is a broken harness pendant - of the type which is multifoil (usually sexfoil) with internal swinger within a frame. This looks like part of the frame - a bit like SF-061760'.
Cast plano-convex section of an object of possibly trefoil lobed form with the cusps of the loops projecting into the inside of the frame. A spot of white metal plating appears on the display face. Fiercely abraded, torn and twisted. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1400-1500.
