A cast copper-alloy single loop D-shaped buckle fragment with moulded decoration. The solid D-shaped fragment has lost its strap bar. It is crudely shaped on one side only to resemble ropework but the thickness of the casting diminishes and thickens again, varying quite considerably in its shape. Circa 1450-1550. Similar examples are shown in Whithead "Buckles 1250-1800" page 25. 36.94mm wide, 25.14mm high, 2.97mm thick weighs 4.69grammes.
