Copper farthing token of Richard Scaddan (spelled SCADDAM on token) of Ludgvan. Williamson, 1967, p.102, no.43 refers to this token being issued by Richard Scaddan of Ludgvan who married Joan Cossen, both described as of Penzance, at Stowford in Devon in October 1647. The name is spelled in different ways in the parish registers but apparently always with a final "n". The token is dated to 1666 on the obverse.
