A complete silver-plated, bronze-cored contemporary copy of a denarius of P. Clodius M.f. Turrinus, dating to c. 42 BC (Reece period 1). Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo right, lyre behind. Reverse: Diana Lucifera standing facing with bow and quiver over shoulder, holding long lighted torch in each hand. P CLODIVS on right, M F on left. The coin is very worn and fragments of the silver plating are missing, exposing the bronze core underneath. Mint of Rome. As RRC p. 506, no. 494/23.
