A fragment of possibly Roman ceramic greyware jar (AD 43-410). The sherd is a wheel thrown rim fragment of a coarse dark grey ware with well sorted sand and or quartzite inclusion. The rim is flat this a sharp bend through 90 degrees to a horizontal neck before broadening to a 45 degree shoulder.

The fragment is 52.6mm high, 67.8mm wide, 7.5mm thick and weighs 50.78 grams
