Probably a rim sherd of a Roman fine ware vessel dating from the 1st-4th century AD. The vessel was made from light to medium grey coloured clay tempered with very small pieces of sand/grit. It was coated in a dark grey slip which is very worn in some areas. The rim was curved and the curvature of the sherd suggests that it came from a shallow bowl.
