A silver denarius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), dating to AD 195 (Reece Period 10), Obverse: [IMP] CAE L SEV PERT AVG C[OS II], laureate head right. Reverse: TR P III IMP [V?] COS II, two captives seated at base of trophy. Eastern Mint. RIC IV, pt 1, p. 150, cf. no. 435. The attribution of this coin to Emesa in RIC can no longer be proven. The only recorded coin is IMP V, but this part of the legend is unclear on this coin.
