A complete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy button (1450-1600).

This button has a domed (pyramidal) head, lozengiform in plan. There appears to be no decoration on the head. The underside is flat and has sub-rectangular drilled shank with an aperture for attachment. The hols has a diameter of 2.6mm.

The button is corroded and has a patchy mid-green patina.

Height: 15.5mm; width of head: 10.3mm; thickness of head: 9.1mm; height of head: 6.5mm; maximum thickness of shank: 1.9mm. Weight: 2.93g.
