Medieval to post medieval copper alloy double loop buckle. The buckle has a narrowed central strap bar which exhibits traces of iron corrosion, probably from the missing pin. An oval loop expands from either side of the strap bar, each one thickening towards the outside edge. The inside edge of each loop exhibits a filed V-shaped pin rest. The inside edge of each loop exhibits eight filed grooves, four on either side of the pin rest, giving the outer edge a cusped appearance. The buckle has been distorted out of shape.
A similar example is discussed in Whitehead, R, 2003, p. 60, no. 354.
