Black flint with cortex core. One end of an oval nodule with a flat striking platform and with long narrow parallel flakes removed by unidirectional working. The lack of subsequent patination and further surface damage may indicate the object was incorporated into a sealed context shortly after its deposition. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic.
