Copper alloy unidentified object of medieval to post medieval date (c. AD 1350 - 1700). The object is in the form of a thimble, with a domed crown and expanded mouth, however, it lacks any indentations, hles or pits, usually seen on thimbles. The thimble may be unfinished, or may be part of another object such as a ferrule or end cap from a cane or similar. Wrinkles and folds in the sides may suggest that it was made using the stamping and hammering method (Holmes, 1999, p.1).
A similar example, recorded on the database as a thimble is: SWYOR-F51B11.
