A copper-alloy element from an openwork belt mount dating dating to mid second century AD. The object comprises a bar of four oval or sub-oval elements which are all rectangular in section. At one end, the bar is pierced with a circular perforation. The object has a length of 58mm, a width of 5.5mm and a thickness of 2.5mm. The object weighs 2.8 grams. Belt plates with similar baluster mouldings are known from numerous military installations throughout the Empire, although Hoss catalogues no examples from Britain. Hoss classifies this as her Type B.14 (Lechința de Mureș type) and notes that the majority of examples come from Romania (Hoss 2014, 156). For a discussion of parallels and images of examples amongst the grave goods of Grave No. 8, Trench No. IV at Apulum, Romania see Ciguidean (2012, 112-113).
