The object is hemispherical in section and comprises two waisted equal arms either side of two ribbed mouldings. The underside is flat and plain with no visible means of attachment. The object has a length of 41.8mm, a width of 4.9mm and a thickness of 2.9mm. The object weighs 3.1 grams. Belt plates with similar baluster mouldings are known from numerous military installations throughout the Empire, although Hoss catalogues no examples from Britain. Hoss classifies this as her Type B.14 (Lechința de Mureș type) and notes that the majority of examples come from Romania (Hoss 2014, 156).
