A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch dating to AD 43 - 75. The brooch has a green-brown patination, the head, bow, middle side lug and the foot survive

The head of the brooch is fully intact, the head has been curled upwards to form the axis bar. In the centre of the head is a recess to hold the missing pin.
The bow is sub triangular in shape. The bow is decorated with four vertical ridges (all different widths, and also travels across the only present side lug), and there is a horizantal ridge, acting like a divider between the bow and the foot of the brooch. There is slight damage to the body of brooch. The left projection survives, the right projection is missing.
The foot of the brooch is missing, a fragment of the catchplate survives.
